Synopsis:
When three college besties meet three hot guys
in Vegas, anything can—and does—happen. Book Four in the New York Times Wild
Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times book of the
year that Sylvia Day called “a sexy, sweet treasure of a story”), Dirty Rowdy
Thing, and Dark Wild Night.
For two people ambivalent about dating and
love, they sure get naked around each other an awful lot…
London Hughes is very content to surf daily,
tend bar, hang out with her group of friends, and slowly orient herself in the
years after college. Everything’s going great and according to the non-plan.
But when a wave knocks her for a loop one
morning, then Luke Sutter’s flirtatious smile knocks her for another that
evening, she veers slightly off course…and into his path. Sure, he’s a total
player, but the Why not—it’s only one night is a persistent voice in her ear.
For his part, Luke’s been on hook-up autopilot
for so long that he rarely ever pauses to consider what he’s doing. But after
an amazing time with London, he realizes that he hasn’t been moving on from a
devastating heartbreak so much as he’s been drifting to wherever—and
whomever—the current takes him. With London
he wants more.
Every relationship involves two people…plus
their pasts. And as much as she enjoys her fling with Luke, when London learns
about his past—more specifically, who’s in it—everything becomes the brand of
complicated she strives to avoid. It’s up to Luke then to change some things in
order to try and ensure he’s not something she’ll outright avoid as well.
Review:
I honestly don’t know how to start this review
because I loved Luke & London so much you couldn’t imagine.
Confession to make? I might love Luke more than
Finn. Or maybe should I read DRT all over again?
Before reading Wicked Sexy Liar, we
didn’t know much about Mr. Sutter & Miss London. Luke was mostly known in SFB for
being Mia’s d*****bag ex-boyfriend. And to be real: it was hard for everyone
not to think about that while reading the book. As for London, we’ve met her in Beautiful Secret
since she’s Ruby’s best friend, plus in Dark Wild Night, for being Lola
Castle’s roommate. But she was just a side character. We could barely remember
her name.
Having to meet the characters for the first
time and make a new image of them make WSL so so so special.
London Hughes enjoys calmly her life
at San Diego,
living in the house she inherited from her grandmother. She surfs in the
morning, bartends at night at Fred’s, plays at Titanfall – and she’s so good at
it – when she’s bored and exceptionally, codes some graphic design sites.
Hanging out with her roommate’s – Lola, now best friend – close circle of
friends and their halves, she tries to forget what happened during her last and
painful relationship. Independent woman, she’s never ever wanted a
relationship with a guy she meets at work. And then, there was the goddamn Luke Sutter. It
was supposed to be just a one-night thing so she tries to keep her distance
from him but it turns out that she might like him beyond sex. She’d like to
trust him actually – maybe? –; until she hears about his relationship with Mia
and his profound friendship with Harlow, and Lola. Things get a lot more
complicated.
Luke is a total player. His
reputation isn’t the best. After meeting London
– aka Logan
– he quickly realizes that he hasn’t moved on from Mia. Running after Miss America
like a puppy – because he is – he’ll figure a lot of things out.
This book is different from the other Christina
Lauren books probably because the main characters – Luke Sutter and London Hughes
– are younger than the previous mains characters Ansel (Sweet Filthy Boy),
Finn (Dirty Rowdy Thing) and Oliver (Dark Wild Night). They’re so
cool, innocent, young and easy to relate to. I had the real feeling that I was London from beginning to
end.
The only thing that's missing is maybe some London & Ruby moments. I really wanted that. Wicked Sexy Liar could've been the best and the most appropriate novel where the Beautiful and Wild Seasons series would meet.

Special dedication to the authors because, Lord, I swear I loved the surfing part.
Wicked Sexy Liar is a young, modern, innocent, cute, sexy and
hot love story that’ll make you want to read hundred times. Luke will be your
next book boyfriend for sure.
To CLo: you never fail to make me want more of
your amazing books. Please, never stop writing such awesomeness.
